Course Description: In this course, we will read three English novels which were created, consumed, and widely enjoyed in the 18th and 19th century in Britain: Jane Austen’s Emma, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels. You are required to read the assigned reading in advance and to write one-page reading journal. Basically we will use the reading journals to discuss the novel every week
