This course offers epoch-making lecture, which can be the pride of liberal arts at Sookmyung, to make students acquire a solid understanding of Korean tradition and culture. It makes a feature of every two weeks of special lectures by celebrities who have a profound knowledge of each major genre of Korean culture. Also, students are nurtured to be active in the class, based on the problem-based learning(PBL) educational method, and they are required to discuss the meaning of Korean culture, its consciousness between Korean people, and direction for its sustainable expansion in this globalization. Students are expected to take the initiatives to bring up relevant issues, and solve them on their own accord. As a result, they are able to obtain in-depth cultural capabilities and effective communication skills in English to become a future culture leader who can be the medium of our tradition and modern society.
