The class consists of both lectures and tutorials. The instructor will explain main concepts and perspectives during lecture sessions. We will discuss their relevance to contemporary international relations. It is critical that all readings MUST be completed by the class session for which they are assigned. They will be necessary background for lectures and discussion, and you will be held responsible for them, both in class and on exam.
1.Class attendance and participation (20%): Class attendance is important due to the nature and organization of this course. Missing a class will have a negative impact on your learning and overall course grade. However, being in class is not, in itself, participation. Participation means preparing for each class by completing the assigned reading for that day AND actively participating in class discussion.
2.Group presentation (20%): Students are expected a group presentation. During tutorial sessions, students are expected to participate in group presentations and debates on various issues of world affairs. Each group will make a 20-25 minutes presentation on an assigned topic and consult with tutor before presentation.
