This is the second course in a two-course series in which students acquire current knowledge as a general nurse for nursing intervention of child care problems across infancy, childhood and adolescence. Emphasis is placed on the assessment and intervention of child health problems commonly encounered in pediatric health care facillities. After completing the course, the student should be able to identify the health problems and apply appropriate nursing interventions for children with respiratory, genitourinary, cerebral, musculoskeletal, endocrinologic, and developmental alterations.
