This course will cover fundamental theories in the study of education. It will use an interdisciplinary approach to examine key issues in Korean education. In it we will explore issues of Korean education from the perspectives of philosophy, curriculum, psychology, methods and technology, sociology and administration and discuss alternative policies and programs. We will explore the topics listed on the syllabus through historical and contemporary readings, students reflections, presentations, and group discussion and activities. The course also provides students with an opportunity to explore their interest in teaching.
